Mitt Romney Style

I don’t care what political party you side with, you should be able to appreciate a funny video regardless. So here’s my warning, if you can’t put aside your personal opinions on political chess players, then probably skip this one.

However, if you’re up for a laugh because of the amazing innovation and creativity, you simply must give it up to college humor and this well done video on ‘Mitt Romney Style.’ (Oh, and yes it’s a spawn of Psy’s ‘Gangnam Style.’)

P.S. – If you’re saying to yourself, wow Meredith the election is WAY over. Don’t worry, I realize this. But something’s are still too funny not to share even if they’re less timely.

If you know anything about me, you know I’m a huge fan of the Harry Potter series. Non-traditional though it may be, I saw the movies first and only after seeing the film would read the book. I’m a little behind, having only begun reading the fifth book, but I’ll get there. Best part, I love the films, then love the books more.

Movies, check. Books, three to go. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter amusement park in Orlando, oh yeah! If you’re thinking about going, do it. I highly recommend it. The detail, creativity and realistic nature of the park was truly amazing. It honestly felt as if what my imagination and the movies created was brought to life. Get just a taste of it with these pictures.

Has anyone else gone? What did you think?

Hogwarts Express

The Sorting Hat

Entrance to Dumbledore’s Office

The Book of Monsters

Sampling the local brew – Butterbeer, delicious

The magical car

The students from the other magical schools

Hagrid’s cabin

Singing choir – a cappella group, very talented

I’m not sure if it’s the tune or how well done the video is, but I love Cee Lo Green’s “Forget You” video. It instantly puts me in a good mood. I even find myself swaying and snapping my fingers 🙂 So on this Monday, here’s to jammin’ out to good music, to whatever sets your day off on a good note, make it happen.

What song instantly gets you in a great mood? It’s Music Monday after all.

One of the best parts about a job is when something comes back to you that directly contributes to your life happiness. Sometimes it’s the opportunity to travel and see cities that you’ve always wanted to. Other times it’s getting to watch a professional basketball game in the club level box.

Recently for me, it was getting to see Cirque du Soleil’s Kooza, courtesy of my boyfriend’s work relationship. Truth be told, the event was a business event and offered him the opportunity to talk with his business contacts about their industry. For me, being along for the ride, it was a special evening to see what the blue and yellow tents that decorated the parking lot of the Pepsi Center were all about.

Cirque du Soleil Kooza

The evening began with getting to visit the private Club Rouge tent off to the side of the main tent. We were able to enjoy a warm place to wait until the performance began as well as sample delicious appetizers and cocktails.

Next, was the performance that featured a dream-like experience entering a kind of circus where three women contorted their bodies to bend over backwards, and even unnaturally formed the letter “E.” Men walked over tight ropes on chairs, bikes and standing on top of one another. Even one man climbed and balanced on top of a stack of chairs (that he built along the way) that must have been at least 20 chairs high. All without a safety net to catch them should they make an unfortunate mistake.

Unreal to say the least. A great escape into a different world from the ho-hum of our real world. It was fantastic and all thanks to a little perk that sometimes comes with your “day” job.

Remember, you have to always celebrate the big and the small moments, otherwise you’re missing half the fun.
