Another funny for the week. This one courtesy of DollarShaveClub.com. Hope it gives you a big laugh, just as it did me.

Happy Friday!

Just came across this video and I have to say I completely agree. Often times when I hear people (or myself) complain, it feels ridiculous. We’ve become such a spoiled rotten society. We don’t appreciate what we have, we only focus on the things we don’t have. In a constant state of “I need.”

I catch myself saying it all the time. Then when challenged with, “do you really need it?” The answer is always most certainly “no.” So how did we get to this place? Why is our focus so off?

Last year, I came up with an idea for an e-book, titled “We’re Missing It” and the concept (still in my head at this point) is similar to this interview with Louis C.K.

Take a look and let me know what you think.

Need a Laugh?

I came across this image online and it cracked me up. I know it’s super small, so just look at the picture and I’ll write the words here.

So the picture says: “When I Grow up… I want to be like mommy!” and shows a woman in the center with several people around her holding up cash.

Right below the picture, it reads: After it was graded and the child brought it home, she returned to school the next day with the following note:

“Dear Ms. Davis,

I want to be very clear on my child’s illustration. It is NOT of me on a dance pole on a stage in a strip joint.

I work at Home Depot and had commented to my daughter how much money we made in the recent snowstorm. This photo is of me selling a shovel!”

My family is funny. When you have a close bond with someone, you know you can joke around in good fun. When my family visited my brother and sister-in-law in California, we got to spend some really wonderful times together. As always.

When it came to blowing up my parents’ air mattress so they could sleep in the living room, rather than take it out to the car (it would’ve made a lot of noise and it was late at night), we decided it would be better to blow it up with a hand/foot air pump. Two hours of this… and we finally had a comfy bed.

Another moment of fun came about when my sister-in-law gave my mom a box of pumpkin muffin mix as a thank you for coming to visit. As I proclaimed, “hey, what about me?” My loving sister-in-law put her culinary skills to use and made a creation for me as a thank you…

And now you know why we love each other so much!
